The Europa postage stamp (also known as Europa - CEPT until 1992) is an annual joint issue of stamps with a common design or theme by postal administrations of member countries of the European Communities (1956–1959), the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) from 1960 to 1992, and the PostEurop Association since 1993. Europe is the central theme. "Forests" was the Europa theme for 2011. Two Europa stamps were issued to celebrate the Intenational Year of Forests, a declaration by the United Nations. The UN's purpose for the International Year of Forests is "to raise entireness cm sustainable management. conservation and sustainable development of all types afforests.' Forests occupy over thirty percent of earth's surface. ![]() Vatican City's diptych issue, the two stamps based upon detail of a painting in the Sistine Chapel by Pietro Vannucci known as Perugino (1446/1450-1523), ''The Journey of Moses into Egypt" (a 1482). The stamps bear two different values, €0,60 and €0,75. The miniature sheet contains ten se-tenant stamps, with the inscription "2011 Sensational Year of Forests" along the selvage, with Europa inscribed on each stamp.
