The 75th anniversary of the Security Inspectorate is marked by a €1,10 stamp which depicts two uniformed police staff and their automobile, with shadows of visitors and the colonnade and St. Peter's Basilica in the background. The stamp is a joint issue with Italy. Artist Tiziana Trinca designed the stamp which is issued in sheets of ten. The Security Service Inspectorate has responsibility for security in Vatican City State, particularly in St. Peter's Square, as well as during papal visits to Italian Territory. Pope Francis expressed his "affectionate" greetings to a group gathered in audience representing the Inspectorate of Public Security at the Vatican on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of its foundation. He noted that this anniversary celebration of the founding of the Inspectorate is an occasion to thank the Lord for the work of the many men and women of the Italian Police, who for 75 years have competently and passionately kept the bond alive between the Holy See and Italy.
