2023 Activities of Pope Francis: ***** NEED TO ADD ACTIVITIES AT END OF 2023 AS IN PAST PONTIFICATE ISSUES ***** The stamps for the Pontificate of Pope Francis 2023 reflect on activities during his 10 years as Pope. The €1,20 value reproduces a moment during the Mass celebrated on 19 March 2013 marking the beginning of Pope Francis’ pontificate. The image chosen for the €1,25 value showing the Pope kiss the Book of the Gospels celebrates Sunday of the Word of God instituted by Pope Francis with his Apostolic Letter Misericordia et misera of 20 November 2016. The third stamp, the €2,40 value shows the Pope hearing a confession, thus recalling the institution of “24 Hours for the Lord”, an initiative that originates from the Jubilee of Mercy. Finally, in the €3,10 value, Pope Francis is depicted during a powerful moment of recollection during his first pastoral visit that took him to Lampedusa, Italy (8 July 2013).
