1932 Vatican Cover / Website User Guide

Marvin Lanahan

Just received this 1932 stamp cover purchased from seller in Belgium. It was originally mailed September 9, 1932 from the Vatican to Nancy, France. The stamp is Scott number 9, 1929 Conciliation - Pope Pius XI .

I purchased it mainly for the nice cancellation postmark which is a VPS everyday type I-7. The cancellation has 5 vertical lines and two corners in the upper moon, 6 vertical lines and two corners in the lower moon. There is a slight upward bend in the bottom line of upper moon line with a break in the on the right side of the same line.

The purpose of the Cancellation Research Project, or Postmark List, is to collect information about Vatican postmarks. Got a nice cover in your collection? Scan it and upload it to the VPS website. (From the Member Page, click on the Reference tab, then select the Postmark List, instruction available). Alternatively, you can upload a scanned image your cover to the VPS website using the upload link found on the Member Page. Additionally you can write a few paragraphs about you cover, then send it in using the contact page. We will help turn your writing into an email and so it can be shared with other VPS members.

On another subject, today, we are including a link to the first edition of the VPS Website Users Guide . We hope this document is a helpful reference guide when you visit the VPS website. It contains a lot information about the what is available on our website and provides some step-by-step instructions on how to use the various screens. TheVPS Website Users Guide can also be found by clicking the Document tab of the menu bar found on the Members Page of the website. You can save or print the VPS Website Users Guide by right clicking on your mouse button once the document opens on your computer screen.
