![]() ![]() A couple of weeks ago, the VPS Website Team shared a review of Vatican Stamp Day at the Spellman Museum. it was a really wonderful day for those who were able to attend. Knowing that, due to geography and other issues, most of our members would not be able to travel to Massachusetts for the day, the Website Team has compiled some resources to document the events of the day and to provide all VPS members an opportunity to see some of the material that was displayed at the event. Links have been provided to the various resources, which can also be accessed from the VPS website (www.vaticanstamps.org). Here is a run-down of what is available: Vatican Stamp Day video, produced by Weston Media:. This short video (about 5 minutes long) shows some of the exhibits from Vatican Stamp Day, and provides some background into our Society. Click on the link below to view the video: Vatican Stamp Day Slide Show. VPS Webmaster Marvin Lanahan produced a continuously-running slide show to highlight many aspects of Vatican philately. Click on the link below to access the topics presented and to view the slide show: Vatican Stamp Day Exhibits. Many of the exhibit pages that were displayed at Vatican Stamp Day have been scanned and compiled in a set of exhibit files that provide a permanent record of the event. Some of the exhibits are still on display in the gallery at the Spellman Museum, and those pages will be scanned and included on the website at a later date. Click on the link below to access the exhibits: Watch for a wrap-up article on Vatican Stamp Day in the upcoming issue of Vatican Notes, which should be out by the end of the month. And we hope you enjoy the material that can be accessed on the website for the event. It was a great day and we are glad we can share it electronically with all of our members. |
