Pope Opens Holy Door
To Commence Jubilee Year

Earlier today (around 7 pm in Rome), Pope Francis opened the Holy Door in Saint Peter's Basilica to commence the Jubilee Year of 2025. The screenshots show the pope knocking three times on the Holy Door, the door beginning to swing open, and Pope Francis passing through the door and entering the Chapel of the Pieta. Following the opening of the Holy Door, Pope Francis led the procession into Saint Peter's Basilica for the celebration of the Mass for Christmas Eve.
