Recently, VPS Webmaster Marvin Lanahan began a new project to add the display of Vatican City album pages to our Daily Emails. Have you noticed the new button on the Daily Email page? During Vatican Stamp Day this past October, one of the exhibits showed a great way in which Cardinal Spellman's stamps were mounted. This caused some of us to go back and look at the way we were mounting our stamps and covers. To generate some ideas, we began looking at various album pages and felt it would helpful to present this to VPS membership. Our thinking is that if we could create a daily display of album pages as part of our Daily Email, VPS members could see a stamp mounting technique they could use to mount material in their collections. The Daily Album Page will also be a way to present new material (stamps, covers and other philatelic items) to all members to enhance their experiences and provide additional depth and enjoyment to your study of Vatican City philately. Click on the new Daily Album Page button to view this new feature. Watch for a new page every day! In addition, we want members to review the Daily Album Page and use the chat room functions to make comments and share your thoughts. We do not want this to be a one-sided project: it will work best with the cooperative participation of all VPS members. We would would like you to look through your collections and scan (or photograph) a couple of pages from your collection. Send your jpg images to Marvin Lanahan (email mlanahan404@comcast.net). By gathering material from all our members, we can make this a very fulfilling endeavor. But we need member participation, so please help us make this project successful. Thanks in advance for your help! |
