![]() If you follow our website writings and visit the VPS Website Chat Room, you have probably seen entries from our good friend "Charlie from Virginia". The website team has had an interest in learning exactly what is in Charlie Schaefer's collection. As a long-time Vatican City collector, Charlie has amassed a collection encompassing 100 stamp notebooks. Ever since he mentioned that, we have been trying to get our eyes on them. Well the wait is over! Recently, Charlie very graciously responded to our request for material from the album pages of members to help populate our new Daily Email feature, Daily Album Page. You will this a new button on the Daily Email page to direct you to this new offering. So for the next week, we will be sharing the first of some of album pages that Charlie has sent us. After that you will see material regularly from Charlie's collection by clicking on the Daily Album Page button. The VPS website team is real excited, and grateful, that Charlie has shared some of his collection with us! Every VPS member is invited to share album pages from their collection. Simply scan or photograph album pages from your collection and upload your JPG files using the VPS upload function (click the "Member Uploads" button on the VPS website member page). Or, you can send them in an email to mlanahan404@comcast.net. While on the subject of album pages, you should checkout the new Album Page Builder button, also located on the website member page. The VPS Webmaster Marvin Lanahan has been diligently working on a computer program to produce album pages that have a similar look to those produced for Cardinal Spellman that were displayed on Vatican Stamp Day at the Spellman Museum last October. With a little practice we believe most members can learn the use the Album Page Builder program and produce some very nice album pages. Read through some of the documentation screens and give things a try. We are also putting up some album page files that VPS members can simply download to their computers and print for their personal use free of charge. Free stamp album pages!! We think this is another great benefit to being a VPS member! |
