Visit the Spellman Museum

VPS Website Team

The Vatican Philatelic Society (VPS) Website Team encourages our members to support the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History. Located on the campus of Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, the Spellman Museum is one of only two philatelic museums in the United States (the other being the National Postal Museum in Washington, DC).

Last October, VPS sponsored a very successful Vatican Stamp Day at the Spellman Museum. That success was in large part due to the support and encouragement of the Spellman leadership. The Spellman staff granted VPS access to the Museum's vast holdings of Vatican and Roman States material, as well as items from Francis Cardinal Spellman's personal philatelic and Church archives. It was a unique and rewarding experience, and we hope to hold another Vatican Stamp Day in the future.

Click on the link below to access the latest "Spellman Museum Spotlight", a monthly update released on the Museum's You Tube channel. In addition to providing some information on recent Museum projects and events, the update contains an interview with Siobhan Mahaney, the Museum's Educator. Her discussion contains video clips from Vatican Stamp Day.

If you are in the Boston area, a visit to the Spellman Museum is certainly worth the time. We are proud of our relationship with the Museum, and hope to build on that partnership in the future.
