VPS Website Team

On Tuesday, May 13, Vatican News published the release below regarding the reopening of philatelic and numismatic sales in July. The announcement is translated to English below and is reproduced verbatim from the Vatican News article. A link to the original article is given as a reference at the bottom of the page.
Vatican: A New Website for Philately and Numismatics Enthusiasts from July
The Governorate of Vatican City State has completed the renewal process for the Vatican Mint and the Philatelic and Numismatic Sales activities. Vatican stamps and coins will now be available for purchase through a new e-shop, where collectors can register securely. Packaging and brochures will use only recyclable or environmentally friendly materials.

Starting in early July, collectors and enthusiasts worldwide will be able to buy Vatican City's philatelic and numismatic products online via a completely redesigned website and e-shop. The packaging, brochures, and all other materials will also be made from recyclable or low-impact materials. These changes were announced by the Vatican City Governorate for the Vatican Mint and Philatelic and Numismatic Sales, as part of a renewal process aimed at ensuring greater efficiency, quality, and transparency in every aspect of operations. This update will make the sale of Vatican stamps and coins more accessible, sustainable, and closer to collectors worldwide.

The New Online Sales Platform
The new sales platform, available on www.cfn.va, has been designed to offer a modern, intuitive shopping experience open to collectors from all over the world. The entire sales strategy has been rethought with transparency and greater accessibility in mind. The previous pre-assignment system will be replaced by a more participatory and impartial distribution model to accommodate the needs of an increasingly diverse philatelic and numismatic community. Additionally, certain product lines will be distributed through selected commercial partners chosen by the Governorate.

New Customer Registration Methods
Following a revision of customer data management in accordance with Vatican data protection laws, the sales system will soon welcome new collectors. With the launch of the new online platform, even those who were previously unregistered will be able to sign up, ensuring broader and more inclusive access. Transparent and responsible data control measures have been introduced to guarantee a secure digital experience, in compliance with the highest regulatory standards.

Commitment to Environmental Sustainability
Significant attention has been given to environmental sustainability and the adoption of greener solutions in both product design and material selection. From packaging to informational materials, everything has been redesigned to minimize ecological impact, using fully recyclable or low-impact materials in alignment with Vatican City's sustainability and green transition principles.

Ongoing Production
Despite recent restructuring efforts, philatelic and numismatic production has continued uninterrupted. Regular issues include stamp and coin series dedicated to Pope Francis’ pontificate, the Holy Year 2025, the 2025 Sede Vacante, and the beginning of Pope Leo XIV's pontificate.
