Help VPS Recruit
New Members

Marvin Lanahan

The Vatican Philatelic Society (VPS) is actively recruiting new members during this year’s dues collection season. We believe there are many Vatican stamp collectors who have yet to join VPS, and we want to ensure they know about the valuable benefits of membership.

Our efforts bore some fruit at the recent Boston 2026 Stamp Expo. During the Expo, at a VPS Informal Get-Together, we had several folks interested in Vatican philately stop by and meet with other collectors and VPS members. Some expressed interest in joining the Society, and in fact we had one person join that day. If you are a member of other stamp clubs and philatelic groups, try to spread the word about VPS!

To connect with fellow collectors who may not yet be aware of VPS, we will be sending out recruitment emails again later this summer. If you know someone who would enjoy learning about Vatican history, Vatican City philately, or the many fascinating topics we cover, we encourage you to use the website’s contact form to share their name and email address with us.

Also, based on a Chat Room post by one of our esteemed members (Charlie from Virginia), another thought for expanding our membership would be to connect with local schools and religious groups to promote Vatican City philately. With the election of Pope Leo XIV in 2025, the first American pontiff, there is increased interest in the Church and the Vatican, which offers us an opportunity to promote Vatican philately and VPS. Local churches, religious organizations, Catholic schools and diocesan newspapers may be potential audiences for talks, remote presentations, or articles on Vatican history and philately and can provide VPS a means of introducing a variety of like-minded groups to our society. If you have any suggestions, please contact the VPS Website Team. Better still, reach out to a group who may be interested to see if they would like to learn more.

The more members we have, the stronger the Vatican Philatelic Society becomes. Help us expand our community and share the joy of Vatican stamp collecting!
