Since last October, Vatican City collectors have been frustrated by the inability to purchase stamps and philatelic materials through the CFN. The VPS Website Team has been hounding its contacts at the Vatican for information and trying to find out when sales would resume. Well, there may be an end of the wait in site. For months, logging onto the CFN website has resulted in a "Site Maintenance" message that basically told us nothing. Recently, the page has been updated with a new logo and rebranding as "Zecca Stato Citta Del Vaticano" ("Mint of the Vatican City State"). This week, the page now shows a "countdown", we assume to the reopening of the website for activity. Click the button below to access the current display from the CFN home page: Based on the "countdown", we anticipate the site reopening on July 24. Pardon us if we are keeping a "wait and see" attitude (more like "we'll believe it when we see it"), but perhaps our prayers are finally being answered. But let's "wait and see"! |
