Yesterday, December 18, the CFN sent the following email to its subscribers: "Dear customer,A check of the CFN website displays the two commemorative folders as available for purchase, each for a price of 15.00 euros. The announcement signals the first time that CFN has offered the commemorative folders, normally sold exclusively at the Vatican Post Office sites, through its website "e-shop" to mail order customers. This is welcome news for Vatican collectors since it provides access to products that were previously only available at the Vatican. Unfortunately, there still appears to be no progress regarding the shipping of orders placed through the CFN website, so this new development is a little bittersweet. New products are available, but it is clearly "caveat emptor" as to whether folks are willing to take the chance of placing online orders with no guarantee regarding timely delivery. But placing the folders on sale on the website is a move in the right direction and is good new for online buyers who would like to purchase these products. And maybe it is a sign that other changes are coming--we can only hope this is the case. |
