Every ten years, the United States hosts the World Stamp Exposition. The last two events were held in Washington in 2006 and New York in 2016. For 2026, the show will take place in Boston and is entitled “Boston 2026 World Expo”. Your Vatican Philatelic Society (VPS) will have a presence at the Expo and will host an afternoon meeting on Thursday, May 28, from 1 pm to 5 pm. The room location and details have yet to be finalized. The last VPS “get-together” took place at the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History in Weston, Massachusetts, in October of 2024. For that event, VPS had access to the resources of the Museum and was more exhibit-driven. For the upcoming Expo, the meeting will take on a more informal nature, although we are planning to present slide shows and materials for both seasoned Vatican collectors and for those wishing to learn more about Vatican philately. We hope the meeting attracts those interested in joining VPS, and we will have recruitment materials to give to prospective new members. The VPS Website Team is spearheading our participation at Boston 2026, but we welcome any ideas that our members may have to enhance the meeting and drive its success. We would also be interested in knowing if you are planning to attend Boston 2026. The Expo will run from May 23 through May 30, 2026. Let us know your thoughts and your plans for Boston 2026.
