The Boston 2026 World Expo opened with great fanfare on Saturday morning at the Menino Convention Center in Boston. It is a spectacular venue for a meeting, and anyone who harbors the thought that the hobby of stamp collecting is dead…think again. It was quite a sight to see the convention center floor flooded with so many people of all stripes—collectors and non-collectors, young and old, novice collectors and international experts. The opening ceremony was held in the Convention Center Ballroom and set the tone for the day and the week to come. VPS is all set for its meeting on Thursday. A few VPS members have already been seen at the Expo, and we are looking forward to meeting everyone who is able to attend. Once again, here are the details for the VPS meeting at Boston 2026: Vatican Philatelic Society Informal Gathering Thursday, May 28, 2:30-5:30 PM Meeting Room 160B (Level 1) The box below provides a link to the YouTube channel “Exploring Stamps”, featuring Graham Beck. The video shows the setup of the exhibition hall over the three days prior to the Expo. I had a chance to meet Graham on Saturday, a nice guy and a great ambassador for our hobby. He will be producing videos each day of the Expo, so if you are not able to make it to Boston, the videos should provide a feel for the events at the show. And watch for more from the VPS Website Team during the week of the Expo. |
