    Sixth Centenary of the Apparition of Our Lady of Monte Berico
    Vatican City (released February 26, 2026)

    As of this writing, there is still no news regarding the release of the latest batch of Vatican City stamps, which is normally issued in early September. Last year, press releases were issued on September 1 for stamps released on September 7. Perhaps the delay is due to some new stamps which were quietly added to the program earlier this summer. The Website Team is checking the Vatican Poste website daily for news on the latest Vatican City stamps. Click on this LINK to view the latest version of the 2026 Vatican City stamp program.

    HOWEVER, on Thursday, on the Vatican State website an announcement appeared for a special folder to be released on Saturday, September 12, the Feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary.  The folder is entitled “Mary, Mother of the Family". The folder contains a cover cancelled with the special postmark for the day and franked with the stamp for the “Sixth Centenary of the Apparition of Our Lady of Monte Berico”, which was released in February.     Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to visit the Vatican Apostolic Library today to unveil a major new exhibition. “AQVA” (“Water”) is the first installment in a five-year program being presented at the library entitled “Catastrophe and Wonder”. The program, as described in the press release, is an
    “ambitious multi-year initiative [which] offers a wide-ranging, interdisciplinary exploration of the natural elements – framing them as mirrors to humanity’s deepest fears and highest hopes.”
