THE POPE’S TRIP CONTINUES Compared to last week, there is not a lot of news this Monday. The one story is Pope Leo XIV’s trip to South America. He arrived in Uruguay on Friday, November 6, and spent portions of three days in this country on the southeastern coast of the continent. On Sunday, he moved west to Argentina and will be there through Wednesday. He will then proceed on to Peru for the longest leg of the voyage, spending the remaining days in the country where he served much of his priestly life as a missionary and archbishop. Here are some links to articles and a video tied to the pope’s trip: To see the detailed schedule of events being held during the voyage, click on this HOLY SEE LINK. To view the pope’s comments to the press corps on the flight from Rome to Uruguay, click on this YOUTUBE LINK. And to once again see the special postmarks being used by Vatican City during the voyage, click on this COMMUNICATI LINK. ALSO, as a tease, we are watching for the next stamp releases from Vatican City. Last year, the November tranche of stamps came out on November 7. We will be checking the Poste Vaticane website regularly to see if the new stamps hit the sales counter this week. |
