The Europa postage stamp (also known as Europa - CEPT until 1992) is an annual joint issue of stamps with a common design or theme by postal administrations of member countries of the European Communities (1956–1959), the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) from 1960 to 1992, and the PostEurop Association since 1993. Europe is the central theme.
"The Postal Van" was the Europa theme for 2013.
The postal van is one element in the transport of mails worldwide. Vatican City maintains a fleet of vans to deliver mail throughout Vatican City State.
Two stamps were issued by the Vatican to commemorate Europa 2013. The €0,70 stamp depicts a postal van with the dome of St. Peter's Basilica in the background. The €0,85 value depicts a postal van and a globe, emphasizing the international and universal network of the postal system. The issue was printed in a sheet of ten stamps.
