Journeys by Pope Francis during 2018 are marked by four stamps designed by four artists. The visit to Chile and Peru, designed by Chiara Principe for the €1,10 stamp, shows the pope with a Chilean Mapuche girl.
The €1,15 stamp, designed by Orietta Rossi, represents the pope in a symbolic embrace of a metaphor of all the churches and commemorates the visit to Geneva.
The journey to Ireland for the World Meeting of Families is included on a design by Stefano Morri on the €2,40 stamp with the pope in a green chasable worn for the liturgy celebrated in Phoenix Park.
The final €3,00 stamp was designed by Daniela Fusco and commemorates the pope's visit to the Baltic States of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. It displays the image of the "Virgin of Mercy" located at the shrine in Vilnius, Lithuania, and at the shrine of the Black Madonna of Aglona in Latvia. The shrines and a girl in traditional clothes represent Estonia. Each of the four stamps incorporates symbolism associated with the countries that Pope Francis visited.
