Yesterday’s Daily Email brought attention to the first anniversary of the passing of Pope Francis, who died on April 21 of last year.  Two items that appeared yesterday draw attention to this anniversary:

<li>Poste Vatican issued a press release yesterday (dated April 20, 2026) announcing a special postmark to commemorate the anniversary. <li>The Italian philatelic newsletter <i><u>Vaccari News</i></u> published an article on the anniversary, which included an image of the Vatican City special postmark.  IT also displayed the stamp issued by Italy in remembrance of Pope Francis.  There is a special postmark that was also created in conjunction with the stamp.
