<b>VPS STAMP INDEX MAINTENANCE</b> - This database table (VATICAN) is the master stamp list of the VPS. Standard CRUD programs are used to maintain it.<br> <ol type='i'> <li>When the Vatican Post Office (UFN) announces new issues a record is created in the stamp list. Since there is no Scott number a bogus number is made up. Traditionally the year and sequence number is used, something like 2023-05, so that a record can be created. Stamps are usually ordered from the UFN at this time.</li> <li>After weeks and weeks of waiting the stamps eventually arrive from the UFN. They are scanned and uploaded to the stamp list image file. Again a bogus number because the Scott number is still not defined.</li> <li>After several months the Scott number is defined and published in the weekly Linn's publication. Then all of the bogus stamp numbers can be changed to the real Scott number.</li> </ol><br><br>
