Step 1 — Use the Secure VPS Website (HTTPS)

Edge will not send secure login cookies if you visit the site using http://. Always use the secure version:

If you see http:// in the address bar, change it to https://.

Step 2 — Allow Cookies in Edge

Edge may block cookies if tracking prevention or cookie settings are too strict.

Edge → Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data

Make sure the following are enabled:

• Allow sites to save and read cookie data
• Do not block third‑party cookies

Make sure the following are disabled:

• Clear cookies and site data when you close all windows
• Block all cookies

Step 3 — Turn Off Strict Tracking Prevention

Edge includes a tracking prevention system that can block secure cookies during login.

Edge → Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Tracking prevention

Select:

Balanced

NOT:

Strict

Strict mode may block VPS login cookies, especially during redirects.

Step 4 — Turn Off “Clear Browsing Data on Exit”

If Edge is set to clear cookies on exit, it may also block new cookies from being created.

Edge → Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Clear browsing data on exit

Make sure this feature is OFF.

Step 5 — Exit InPrivate Browsing Mode

Edge InPrivate mode blocks persistent cookies. This causes the exact failure your diagnostic page may show:

FAIL — Your browser is blocking VPS login cookies.

To fix this:

Close all InPrivate windows (they have a blue “InPrivate” label).

Step 6 — Check Site Permissions for VPS

Edge allows you to block cookies for individual websites. If VPS was accidentally blocked:

Edge → Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

Scroll down to:

Allow

Add:

https://vaticanstamps.org

Step 7 — macOS Edge Users: Check System Privacy Settings

On macOS, Edge respects certain system-level privacy settings. If cross‑site tracking is blocked at the OS level, Edge may block VPS cookies.

System Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking

Make sure:

Allow cross‑site tracking

is enabled.

Step 8 — Make Sure the Domain Matches Exactly

Edge is strict about cookie domains. VPS login cookies only work on:

https://vaticanstamps.org

They will not work on:

• http://vaticanstamps.org
• https://www.vaticanstamps.org
• http://vaticanstamp.org (missing “s”)
• Old bookmarks pointing to outdated URLs

After adjusting Edge settings, run the diagnostic test again:
