St. Neres Shnorali (Nerses Shnorhali, Nerses IV Klaetsi, 1102-1173) was Catholicos of All Armenians, the Supreme Patriarch of the Armenian Apostolic Church, from 1166 to 1173. He worked tirelessly to bring reconciliation and reunification with the Eastern Orthodox Church. He was an outstanding poet, theologian, and hymn writer. His Twenty-Four Prayers, are probably the most popular and beloved of his compositions and have been translated into more than 36 languages.
