Answer
Detail Answer
Santa Maria ad Martyres (Basilica of Holy Mary of the Martyrs) is the official church name for the building referred to as the "Pantheon" in Rome, Italy. It was built by Marcus Agrippa (63-12 B.C) and is one of the best-preserved buildings from ancient Rome. Pope Boniface IV instituted a feast of Mary and all the Martyrs on May 13, 609, when he dedicated the old Roman temple called the Pantheon as a Roman Catholic Church, and officially changed the name. However, most people still refer to the building as the "Pantheon".
