Detail Answer
On June 8, 1995, the Vatican Post Office released the two stamps to celebrate the Radio Centenary (Scott # 978 & 979) jointly with Germany, Ireland Italy, and San Marino. It was the first joint issue not to be part of the Europa series. One stamp showed Guglielmo Marconi, the second stamp pictured Pope John Paul II.
