The Daily Question


The "Great Schism" between the Roman Catholic Church and the Eastern Orthodox Church of Constantinople occurred in 1054. In 1439 there was a meeting between Pope Eugene IV and Joseph II, the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople to over come obstacles for reunification. No agreement was reached.
