What is the central mission of the Religious of Mary Immaculate, the congregation founded by Saint Vicenta Maria in 1876?

   Evangelization through media
Care for the elderly and infirm
Support and education for young women in difficulty
   Preservation of sacred music

Your answer was: Care for the elderly and infirm.

Answer: 📚 Continuing the Mission of Mercy

Saint Vicenta Maria’s vision was revolutionary for her time. In 19th-century Spain, industrialization had drawn many young women into urban centers where they faced exploitation, poverty, and isolation. Recognizing their vulnerability, Vicenta Maria established homes where these women could find not only shelter but also vocational training, moral guidance, and a sense of dignity. Her approach combined practical support with spiritual care, offering a holistic path to empowerment.

Today, the Religious of Mary Immaculate continue her mission across the globe. From Europe to Latin America, Asia, and Africa, the sisters operate centers that provide education, job training, and safe housing for women and girls at risk. The 50th anniversary stamp is more than a tribute—it’s a reminder that the values of compassion, justice, and maternal care remain vital in addressing the challenges of modern society..

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the canonization of Saint Vicenta Maria, the Vatican has issued a special €2.45 postage stamp on May 27, 2025. The stamp features a vibrant mosaic from the Chapel of Villa Santa Maria in Rome, depicting the Blessed Virgin and Saint Vicenta Maria triumphing over evil, symbolized by a serpent beneath their feet. Framed by two angels proclaiming the Good News, the image is accompanied by a quote from Saint Augustine that captures the saint’s maternal spirit: “Aliis blanda, aliis severa, nulli inimica omnibus mater.” Printed by Bpost in Belgium using four-color offset on gummed paper, the stamp was released in sheets of ten, with a limited run of 30,000 copies.
