Answer: St. Maria Goretti is the patron saint of chastity, rape victims, girls, youth, teenage girls, poverty, purity, and forgiveness. When she was 12 years old, she was sexually attacked, and rather than submit to the attacker's demands, she resisted. She was beaten multiple times, which led to her death. Before dying, Maria forgave her attacker. Her home church was served by Passionist priest and the Passionist Order venerate St. Mary Goretti. See: • James C.
