What saint is Poland's first native born saint ?

   St. Cyril
   St. Methodius
   St. Stanislaus
   St. Pope John Paul II

Your answer was: St. Pope John Paul II.

Answer: Stanislaus was born to noble parents on July 26th, 1030 at Szczepanow near Cracow, Poland. Stanislaus was martyred when he defended injustices. He was canonized by Pope Innocent IV in 1253 and has been a symbol of Polish nationhood. Pope John Paul II effectively used the celebration of St. Stanislaus's feast day as a way of reminding the Polish people of their church relationship during the years Poland was under communist rule.
