Your answer was: Saint Gerard Sagredo. |
Answer: Saint Stephen ( c. 975 – August 15, 1038) was the king that united Hungary into a Christian nation. He fought against semi-independent tribes and chieftains while encouraging the spread of Christianity to unite his nation and protected the independence of his kingdom. Stephen declared that he governed his realm "by the will of God", established monasteries, and encouraged the spread of Christianity. Pope St. Gregory VII canonized Saint Stephen in 1083 and he is the patron saint of Hungary. See: • Rev. H. A.
