Your answer was: Maximillian Kolbe.
You are correct!!

Answer: St Maximillian Mary Kolbe was the Polish Franciscan who was arrested and sent to Auschwitz. When 10 prisoners were sentenced to death, Kolbe volunteered to take the place of one of them.

Pope John Paul II canonized Kolbe on October 10, 1982 and declared him a martyr of charity. The Catholic Church venerates him as the patron saint of amateur-radio operators, of drug addicts, of political prisoners, of families, of journalists, of prisoners, and of the pro-life movement.
