Answer: European Economic Community, made up of Belgium, France, Italy, Luxemburg, Federal Republic of Germany, and the Netherlands, become part of the European Union in 1993. 27 countries of the European Union became an economic and political association of European countries, as a unit, with internal free trade and common external tariffs.
