Answer: St Louisa de Marillac was St Vincent de Paul's right hand in founding the Sisters of Charity, subsequently being called the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, a congregation of laywomen dedicated to teaching and hospital work. Because they were neither enclosed nor called nuns, their concept pioneered in bringing women into religious service outside the cloister.
