Where is Galileo Galilei, the famous Italian astronomer, buried?

   Gesù Nuovo Church in Naples
   Santa Croce Basilica in Florence
   Saint Anthony Basilica in Padua
   St. Peter's Basilica in Rome

Your answer was: Gesù Nuovo Church in Naples.

Answer: The tomb of Galileo Galilei (1564 – 1642), is buried at the Basilica of Santa Croce in Florence. The tomb was erected in 1737 and is directly across from the tomb of Michelangelo. Galileo was known for his contributions to astronomy and the champion of the thinking that the earth rotates daily and revolves around the sun. In 1994 the Vatican Post Office issued a stamp showing the solar system as Galileo had explained it.
