Your answer was: Corporal Works of Mercy. |
Answer: The Corporal Works of Mercy are found in the teachings of Jesus and give us a model for how we should treat all others as if they were Christ in disguise. They “are charitable actions by which we help our neighbors in their bodily needs” Jesus presented the Corporal Works of Mercy as the way to love Him. They are “corporal” because they address our neighbor’s physical needs. Through the Corporal Works of Mercy we have compassion, fixing an injustice. Jesus names these specific works of mercy in Matthew 25:31-46. We learn two important things: 1. Loving others in these ways is loving Jesus Christ Himself. 2. Failing to do these works of mercy can lead to eternal damnation.
