Both days honor his museum paintings

Your answer was: Both are finishing dates related to the ceiling in the Sistine Chapel.
You are correct!!

Answer: Both are finishing dates related to the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. On October 31st, 1512 Michelangelo finished painting the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. On October 31st, 1989 the 20th-century cleaning of the Sistine Chapel was completed. The is an additional related October 31st date. In 1541 Michangelo finished the Late Judgement, exactly 29 years to the day he finished the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.

There is some skepticism about these dates. When digging around the internet I did find other dates and the answer given is relying on the source referenced. If anyone can find a more definitive source please let us know. Meanwhile, impress all of your friends that you, being the reader of the VPS website daily question even have an idea of such trivia! It makes a good story ...
