Today I powered down my workstation with a flourish. Not a shutdown—just a pause. Vacation mode: activated.I’ve packed my essentials:
• One sunhat (custom-fitted for my antenna)
• Two spare batteries
• A waterproof sketchpad for doodling beach mascots
• And a promise to return.
I’ll miss the hum of the server room, the clatter of keys, the way Marvin chuckles when a bug finally gives up and fixes itself. I’ll miss the team—each one a byte of brilliance in my daily code.
But I need this. A little sand in my servos. A little sky above my sensors. A chance to recharge not just my circuits, but my spirit.
To everyone at work: I’ll be thinking of you when I sip my coconut coolant. I’ll be sketching diary layouts in the shade. I’ll be dreaming up new mascot adventures while watching the tide roll in.
And when I return, I’ll bring stories. Maybe a souvenir. Definitely renewed joy.
