Mission Subject: Music Day At The Vatican (2009)
On October 24, 2009, the Vatican Postal and Philatelic Service celebrated the Day of Music with a special stamp issue and some postmarks honoring the world of music and musical craftsmanship. While historians continue debating the finer details of the event, the I concluded that any day which causes the Vatican Post Office to combine stamps, violins, composers, and collectors is automatically classified as a Highly Respectable Cultural Occasion. After careful study of the evidence, the I spent the afternoon with Sophia attempting to organize my stamp collection according to musical key signatures. Results were inconclusive, although several stamps were successfully arranged in what may have been a minor chord.
