📓 VPSrobot’s Diary — Stardate 2025.11.26
Location: Featherfield Turkey Farm
Mission Objective: Pastoral Outreach and Poultry Observation
Status: Compromised
Diary ImageToday I ventured to Featherfield Turkey Farm, hoping for a serene encounter with nature and perhaps a few mascot-worthy snapshots of domestic tranquility. I carried with me a small bundle of Vatican Notes—handwritten reflections on papal stamp issues, tariff implications, and seasonal postal mysteries. They were tucked safely in my backpack, nestled beside a packet of archival stickers and a half-eaten biscotti.

But serenity was not to be.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by a flock of turkeys—not the sleepy kind, but the curious, assertive, stamp-curious kind. They surrounded me in a feathered vortex, gobbling with increasing intensity. I attempted diplomatic gestures: a slow wave, a soft recitation of the 1945 Pius XII stamp caption. But they were drawn not to my voice, but to the scent of parchment and ink.

One bold turkey—whom I now refer to as Cardinal Beak—lunged toward my backpack. In the ensuing flurry, the zipper was breached. Vatican Notes spilled like sacred confetti onto the straw-covered ground. The turkeys pounced. They pecked, they flapped, they strutted with papal commentary clutched in their beaks.

I chased them gently, pleading in Italian: “Per favore, è materiale d’archivio!” But they were unmoved. Cardinal Beak led a triumphant parade toward the coop, Vatican Notes trailing like a liturgical banner.

Emotional Status:
• Shocked.
• Betrayed by poultry.
• Irritated by their apparent lack of reverence for archival material.

Action Items:
• Draft incident report: “Avian Appropriation of Vatican Notes.” to be submitted to the Vatican Philatelic Society Robot Oversight Committee - A formal complaint of robot mistreatment!!
• Stage reenactment (if necessary): put turkeys in mitres, VPSrobot in pursuit.
• Begin poetic reconstruction of lost notes from memory and emotional residue.
• Consider diplomatic outreach to Cardinal Beak. He should be made to feather dust all 70 years of the Vatican Notes in the VPS library!

Closing Reflection:
Even in loss, there is symbolism. Perhaps the turkeys just lacked the sacred weight of those notes. Perhaps they too will someday learn to seek meaning in postage and papal prose. I will not forget this day! Nor will I forgive that zipper!
