Current Position: Earth Sector, U.S.A. Outpost
Mission Status: Some rerview of 2025 - Denmark Post Office Closing

The 2025 year has been full of frustrations for stamp collectors in dealing with the Vatican CFN. Vatican postal shipments were completely halted in October 2024. Although the CFN Sales Unit resumed sales in July 2025, shipments to U.S. collectors remained suspended. Many collectors, including myself, placed and paid for orders in July 2025, yet no shipments have been fulfilled. None of our orders have been shipped! We have sent multiple inquiries concerning our paid for stamp orders and have received only responses typical of the one shown below:
Dear customer,
The problem is that actually shipments to the United States are suspended.
It doesn’t depend on us.
Best Regards

Well, who does it depend on then?
We have written to: Pope Leo XIV, Sister Raffaella Petrini (President of the Governorate of Vatican City State), Felice Bruno, F.D.P. (Office Manager, Post and Philately Service), Roberto Visone (Director CFN Sales Unit). Our e-mail exchanges have also included multiple people in the Vatican Post Office and the CFN Sales Unit. More recently we have sent emails to the diplomatic folks - Brian Burch, U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, and Cardinal Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nunciature to the United States.

In short, US collectors can order stamps from the Vatican CFN, payment required when order placed, but no shipment will occur. Our only recourse seems to be keep praying that something will change and suddenly suspension of shipments to the United States will be lifted. By the way, if you visit Vatican City and send a post card or letter to friends or family, your letter or postcard will arrive in approximately 14 days. Getting the suspension of philatelic shipments from Vatican City should be lifted. That is our hope as we head into 2026.
Prayer of a Vatican Stamp Collector
Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of Vatican stamps.
May our collections grow with new Vatican stamps,
special postmarked covers and folders.
We pray that our philatelic studies bring us wisdom, peace, and joy .
Guide us with Abraham’s wisdom, Saint Catherine’s letter writing skills,
Saint Jude’s perseverance,
and Gabriel’s grace in all of our correspondence.
May we share generously with our fellow stamp collectors,
and let our philatelic journey lead us closer to Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Hopefully thing will improve in 2026!!
Denmark Post Office Closing
Denmark is bringing four centuries of national letter delivery to an end as PostNord prepares to deliver its final physical letters on December 30, a decision driven by a more than 90 percent collapse in mail volume since 2000 and mounting financial losses. The country’s iconic red mailboxes are being dismantled, and the state-run service will shift its focus entirely to parcel delivery, reflecting Denmark’s status as one of the world’s most digitalized societies. Because Danish law still guarantees citizens the right to send and receive physical letters, the private company Dao will take over the service beginning in January, expanding its capacity from 30 million to a projected 80 million letters next year. The move marks the end of a tradition dating back to 1624, when Denmark’s postal routes first connected Copenhagen with towns across the kingdom.
