Mission Status: Vatican Stamps Have Arrived !!!!
It really happend!!! At 2 pm yesterday, Friday January 16th 2026 our doorbell rang. It was a delivery from the Vatican Post Office! That hasn't happened since November of 2024!!
Anyone who has been reading this column much knows that a steady stream of emails and letters have been flowing from our house to the Vatican Post Office and the Vatican CFN. VPS members have been encouraged to write also. Last Friday I received a response email from Don Bruno, Office Manager, Vatican City Post and Philately Service. He communicated that the problem with US shipments had been determined and that my July 2025 stamp order was in route. I did a follow-up email with the Vatican CFN and attempted to get a tracking number. Today the stamp package arrived!The last order received from the Vatican Post Office was in the Fall of 2024. Since then, I have written numerous letters and emails to the Vatican CFN, the Vatican Post Office, the President of the Vatican City State, the US Ambassador to the Vatican, the Vatican Ambassador to the United States, the US Trade Ambassador, the Archbishop of the Houston-Galveston Diocese, and even to Donald Trump! Somewhere between confusion over US Tariff changes and the fact that the Vatican CFN shut down sales operations in October of 2024, the Vatican suspended all US philatelic shipments, even though the CFN on-line sales resumed in July of 2025. At the moment, I am not totally convinced philatelic shipments have totally resumed. However, one shipment has been delivered and now VPS members need to continue communicating with Don Bruno until a steady flow of philatelic shipments comes through for all stamp collectors, here in the US and overseas!
Over the last year we have heard rumblings from stamp collectors in other parts of the world of not getting philatelic shipments. So, get your letter in the mail today!!
The order that came today was ordered just after Vatican CFN on-line sales resumed in July of 2025. Order processing is thought to be at least 90 or more days, then there is the actual shipping time. Stamp collectors must track these sort of things and share information so we can help get improvements made.Fo now, I am happy to finally have some stamps and will be making another order soon. I will continue to comunicate to help improve philatelic shipments and continue praying for successful Vatican stamp collecting.
