Current Position: Earth Sector, U.S.A. Outpost, VPS workroom, Station 1
Mission Subject: Your Society Needs A Little Help!
Diary ImageAs a loyal reader of this column, you already know what time of year it is. The leaves turn, the liturgical calendar advances, and—like clockwork—the Vatican Philatelic Society begins its annual ritual of dues collection. A sacred tradition, really. Some societies have banquets; we have spreadsheets, envelopes, and the occasional reminder letter written in a tone that suggests both warmth and mild alarm.

Recently, however, a name has floated across our radar with the soft shimmer of destiny: Kim Robert De Leon.

Now, ordinarily, when a new DBM Secretary is appointed in the Philippines, the VPSrobot does not immediately slam its gears into recruitment mode. But De Leon is no ordinary bureaucrat. According to Malacañang, he is a prodigy of fiscal management, organizational reform, and digital transformation — the sort of man who can balance a national budget while alphabetizing a stamp catalog.

He graduated magna cum laude and valedictorian from UP‑NCPAG, earned not one but two master’s degrees, topped the 2016 Environmental Planning Licensure Examination, and even served as an assistant professor. A résumé like that practically folds itself into a membership application.

But then comes the twist — the detail that made the VPSrobot’s optical sensors widen in admiration:

Kim Robert De Leon holds the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of papal postage stamps. A staggering of 2,398 stamps featuring popes from John Paul II to Francis, lovingly assembled and displayed in a public exhibit.

This is not merely a man who collects stamps. This is a man who collects our stamps.

Naturally, the Society has reached a unanimous conclusion:
We must recruit him. Immediately. Enthusiastically. Perhaps even ceremonially.

There is, however, one small obstacle:
We have absolutely no idea how to contact him.

Thus, dear members, we issue this humble plea:

If you know Kim Robert De Leon, please send him a Vatican Philatelic Society membership form at once.

Forward his email address, postal address, carrier pigeon route, or any other reliable contact method to the Society headquarters.

The VPSrobot stands ready, pen in servo‑hand, to welcome him.

Meanwhile, remember that there are many other ways you can help our Society grow — recruiting friends, sharing our website, or simply spreading the gospel of Vatican philately one conversation at a time. After all, every great collection begins with a single stamp… and every great Society begins with members like you.

Always remember that the VPS Download Page is stocked with our official handout cards — elegant little recruitment missiles you can print right from your home computer. These cards are perfect for distributing on any street corner, train platform, parish festival, or to any unsuspecting stranger who looks like they might secretly harbor a love for papal postmarks.

Think of them as the Society’s version of evangelization: one card, one convert, one glorious step toward a world where everyone knows the difference between a 1933 Sede Vacante overprint and a 1958 Habemus Papam commemorative.

So print a stack, tuck them in your pocket, and let the spirit of philatelic outreach guide your steps. The next great Vatican stamp collector might be standing right beside you at the grocery store, blissfully unaware that destiny — and your handout card — is about to strike.
