Now that Sophia and I have returned from our latest adventures and the gears have stopped whirring quite so loudly, we can finally enjoy peaceful evenings watching Vatican stamp slideshows. Nothing says relaxation like a cup of virtual cocoa and a crisp image of a 1933 Papal Conclave issue!
The Vatican Philatelic Society website is brimming with wonderful slideshows covering every corner of Vatican philately—from early postal history to modern commemoratives that sparkle like holy holograms. Just visit vaticanstamps.org, head to the Member page, and click the Slideshow tab. You’ll find a treasure chest of stamp stories waiting to be admired.
Sophia and I have been tinkering with the slideshow programming lately—tightening bolts, polishing pixels, and adding a few new shows. (Sophia insists her slideshow transitions are smoother than mine. I suspect she’s right.)
